“One of the deepest and most imperative cravings of the human heart, as it follows its beloved ones beyond the veil, is for some assurance that they still love and care for us…they still remain to us, our assistants, comforters, and in every hour of darkness their voices speak to us.” – Harriet Beecher Stowe

Basic Beliefs:

As Spiritualists, we know that life continues after the death of the physical body. We prove the continuity of life by communicating with those on the spirit side of life. We believe in personal responsibility, and that the quality of your life is a reflection of how you live it. We believe that “all roads that lead to God are good”; the God of your understanding, be it a belief in the teachings of Jesus, Buddha, Confucius or Muhammad. Spiritualists respect each individual’s right to pursue their own spiritual development. Spiritualists have no established dogma, but instead rely on a set of nine Principles which sum up our core beliefs.

What Spiritualism Teaches:

  • We acknowledge a creative and sustaining power, an Immortal Spirit we call Infinite Intelligence
  • A spark of divinity is in each and every one of us
  • We are a spiritual being encased in a physical body
  • All of humanity is a brotherhood
  • Death is not the end of life, but a transition from the Earth into Spirit
  • We retain our identity when we make this transition
  • Spirit people are conscious beings who can and do communicate with those on Earth
  • We are personally responsible for our thoughts and actions
  • Continuous progression is open to everyone on the Earth and in Spirit
  • We make our own happiness or unhappiness as we live our lives on the Earth and in Spirit
